Jays in the falling snow – and more snow scenes

Snow is so common that I have omitted to note its falling at least two days out of Three -William Henry Ashley

It’s snowing again. A good day to watch the blue jays come into the feeder, although there are no pretty beams of sunlight to reflect brilliant blues off their feathers, just gray solid clouds and steady snowfall of the wet kind.

Today schools in the area are delayed, some are closed for another snow day…summer is getting further away for the school kids. This snowfall is on the anniversary of the 1988 blizzard – a much deeper March snow storm.

A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.Β  -Carl Reiner

  1. The subject of snow is so divisive, and I’m talking about myself now. I live in a snow belt (not quite like yours) in upstate New York, often visit relatives downstate where the weather is milder, and sometimes think moving to an even milder climate is a good idea, perhaps Oregon or Arizona. But nothing can be as calming as watching snow fall, together with the quiet it brings.

    1. I know, it’s love/hate, I can’t think of winter without it, but then it just keeps coming down. Snow is great…and it’s not…Thanks for the thoughts πŸ˜‰ mmmm, Arizona — there snow is probably exotic!?

    1. Wait a minute…you’re melting and raining? I’ve been looking around and I think somehow we have more snow than the neighbors. Our snowy evergreens are definitely carrying more frosting. And aren’t you in Canada? Hey. Thanks for the compliment on the evergreen photos, I’ve been working on taking better photos.

It would be great to hear from you!
